#1 – Pick Some, Sip Some
Fall is apple pickin’ and cider sippin’ time. Wander the orchard and pick ’em yourself or shop the farm market and pick up a bushel. Both Mercier Orchards and Mountain View Orchard have tasting rooms featuring orchard-fresh hard cider, so be sure to swing by for a sip. Call ahead to check U-pick schedules.
#2 – Sink a Putt Putt
Line up your putt for some family fun at any of our three area mini-golf courses. Play indoors at 2nd Story Entertainment on Main Street, or head out to The Lilly Pad Village for nine holes in a mountain setting. Cohutta Cove Mini Golf offers a classic layout with three chances to win a free game with a hole-in-one. All three offer refreshments and have additional family-fun activities available.
#3 – Paddle Thru Fall
Fall is your last chance for whitewater adventure. Rafting ends Oct. 27 on the Ocoee River and Nov. 1 on the Chattooga. Fall is prime time for rafting, with water temperatures in the 70s and the weather still a mild 65-70 degrees. At the same time, the rivers are much less crowded, and you’ll get to see the leaves in all their autumn splendor.
#4 – Take a Spin
Experience Blue Ridge by bike (or Segway!) with a rental from Blue Ridge Electric Bikes, which offers electric-assisted bikes — perfect for tackling in-town hills or off-road trails. Tours are available to area falls and attractions. Or, do it yourself and head over to the Fannin County Park or the old Lake Blue Ridge Campground on Dry Branch Road and pick out a comfy cruiser from the automated bike rack.
