#1 – Hitch a Ride
Saddle up for a spring trail ride. Experienced local guides will pair you up with the perfect mount, whether your tastes run to “Old Daisy” or “El Diablo.” Be sure to ask about family wagon rides, proposal rides, picnic rides and authentic “dude-for-a-day” adventures.
#2 – Zip and Raft
Take an adventure through the treetops overlooking the Cherokee National Forest and Blue Ridge Mountains. Better yet, pair your zipline adventure with a rafting trip and get a discount on the combo! The spring Ocoee rafting season runs Saturdays and Sundays through May, with additional weekday trips available during the summer months.
#3 – Shoot ‘Em Up
Tank Town has added some firepower to the menu with an M-1919 machine gun. Sign up for 100 rounds of fully automatic fun. Then, thunder around the track in a fully functional tank. There are plenty of bumps, dips and humps (and if it’s rained recently … mud!). Add a car crush and flatten a car with 17 tons of military steel.
#4 – Pick ‘N Grin
Sweet, juicy fruit is ripe for the pickin’ at Mercier Orchards — strawberries in May, peaches in June and blueberries in July. You can pick your own or pick some up for purchase in the farm store. Of course, there’s no rushing Mother Nature, so be sure to check ahead for days and times (ask about apple blossom tractor rides and hard cider tasting tours, too).
